TOR DEN digital

Leeds Test Objects′ TOR DEN Digital phantom is designed to be used to check the image quality performance of digital dental x-ray systems including intra-oral, panoramic and cephalometric units. These tests should be carried out at acceptance to establish a baseline, and on a routine basis, keeping an on-going record of the test results, which will indicate any deterioration in performance.

TOR DEN digital is used for units with digital image acquisition, and enables the following tests to be made:

  • Limiting Spatial Resolution
  • Low Contrast Resolution
  • Image Receptor Dose
  • Radiation Field Alignment ~ for Panoramic and Cephalometric tests only
  • Image Quality Homogeneity ~ for Panoramic and Cephalometric tests only

The phantom is available as either;

  • INTRA-ORAL : Phantom and protective case
  • INTRA-ORAL + OPG : Phantom, protective case, tripod and alignment jig.

TOR DEN conventional

Leeds Test Objects′ TOR DEN conventional phantom is designed to be used to check the image quality performance of conventional dental x-ray systems. These tests should be carried out at acceptance to establish a baseline, and on a routine basis, keeping an on-going record of the test results, which will indicate any deterioration in performance.

TOR DEN conventional is used for units with conventional film-based image acquisition, and enables the following tests to be made:

  • Optical Density Constancy
  • Radiation Field Alignment
~ for Panoramic and Cephalometric tests only

The phantom is supplied with a positioning device, for TOR DEN conventional this is a magnetic jig. For systems with no magnetic receptor, a suction jig is also available. The TOR DEN phantoms are supplied in a tough case with a bespoke foam insert.

DENTEST

Leeds Test Objects’ DENTEST is a routine test object, or medical imaging phantom, designed to be used quickly and easily on a regular basis (e.g. monthly) to provide an ongoing check of imaging performance, particularly those aspects which are most liable to deterioration. After an initial uniformity check, image quality is measured simply by counting the number of resolvable steps, contrast details and resolution meshes in the image. An ongoing record of these numbers will reveal any trend towards deterioration in imaging performance.

Used for dental radiography, DENTEST enables the following checks to be made:

  • Uniformity
  • Dynamic range
  • Low contrast resolution
  • Detector homogeneity

CBCT-161

CBCT-161 phantom is used for constancy testing of CBCT systems.

CBCT-161 comprises:

  • PMMA cylinder with;160 mm diameter, 40 mm length
  • Spirit level and pigment-filled centre markings for easy and reproducible positioning
  • Tripod for universal positioning
  • Soft tissue equivalent; PMMA
  • Bone equivalent; PVC- density 1.30 – 1.45 g/cm
  • Air gap

CBCT-161 permits measurement of the following image quality parameters:

  • Pixel Intensity Value Linearity
  • Noise
  • CNR
  • Homogeneity
  • Artefacts
  • MTF

CBCT-161-A phantom is an accessory to CBCT-161 and is used for acceptance testing of CBCT systems.

CBCT-161-A comprises:

  • PMMA cylinder with;160 mm diameter, 60 mm length
  • PMMA cylinder with;160 mm diameter, 50 mm length, with threaded hole for attachment to a tripod
